Not sure about getting rid of them, but I always use a nail polish base (I swear by Skinfood's), and my nails remain unstained even though I have it painted most of the time.

The light blue and gold combi turned out well! Too bad the blue polish was matte, and therefore slightly thicker, so the masking lines (made by hole punch stickers) were not as crisp and I had to conceal it with dots.
